Jenn Brown
Visual Artist and Assistant Professor
Info
I'm an artist and assistant professor of art based out of West TN. I have an AFA in Fine Art from East Central College, a BFA in Sculpture from The Herron School of Art & Design at IUPUI, and an MFA in Visual Art from Washington University in St. Louis.

I work in a lot of different media, but I'm primarily a sculptor/painter. My work deals with navigating the physical and emotional struggles of living in a disabled body.

The chairs in my recent work are a motif that represent people. They're anthropomorphized and can act as either my self-portraits or just humans in general. Sometimes they're funny, and sometimes they're more serious, but the chairs give me a way to communicate difficult emotions and connect with an audience.
